Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy (AYUSH)
Ayush is a new programme in the State, however the Department has today employed 75 out of the total 84 Ayush Officers are available in the State.
1.Government of India has approved National AYUSH Mission. To implement the Mission in the State a Society having a Governing Body and Executive Body was constituted with Commissioner & Secretary Dept H&FW as its Chairman.
2.Nagaland State AYUSH Mission Society (NSAMS) got certificate of Registration from Societies Registration cell under Home Department with Registration NO.HOME/SRC-6856 dated 29-01-15.
3.To Strengthen AYUSH Programme. 40 AYUSH Doctors as M.O's under CHCs and PHCs and even in District Hospital, 7 AYUSH Doctors under School Health Team,11 AYUSH Doctors under Mobile Health Team, 2 AYUSH Doctors as Epidemiologist were appointed on Contractual basis.
4.The Govt. has constituted a New Board for Homoeopathic system of medicine under section 3 of the Nagaland Homoeopathic Medicine Act 1996, with Dr.Bendangtula as new Registrar and Dr.Avika was nominated as Deputy Registrar by the members.
5.The Govt. has appointed Dr.Tiakaba Jamir as Member Secretary of the State Medicinal Plant Board vide Order No.HFW-22/B-9/2014(NAM)/183.
6.The Govt. has appointed Dr.Seyiekhrietuo John as SPO AYUSH & Member Secretary of the executive body of Nagaland State AYUSH Mission Society vide order No.HFW-22/B-9/2014(NAM)/182.
7.The Drug Testing Laboratory at Dimapur has been established and Nagaland Homoeopathy Board Office was setup and made functional in DTL.
8.10 Bedded Integrated AYUSH Hospital was inaugurated on 7th April 2015, at Dimapur by Shri.P.Longon, Hon’ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare.
9.SPO AYUSH, attended the 3rd Mission Directorate Meeting of National AYUSH Mission (NAM) & highlighted State Annual Action Plan to Secretary AYUSH GoI & other members.
10.Free Medical camp were conducted in various Blocks and Units as per Annual Action Plan, medicines were purchased and distributed free of cost.
12.Yoga & Naturopathy wing set up at Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima. International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June 2015 throughout the state. Seminars, workshop, live display of films on Yoga and Yoga classes were conducted.
